James Edward Hlawati
James Edward Hlawati, age 66, of Erie, passed away on Saturday evening, May 2, 2020, at his home with his family.
Jim was born on November 5, 1953 in Oil City, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late Robert and Barbara (Morse) Hlawati.
Jim graduated from Fort Lebouf High School and went on to Columbus College of Art and Design, earning his Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design and Advertising. Jim's artistic ability and talent won many awards. He was a multi-gifted designer. His eyes saw creativity like no other. He excelled over the years on his own at Graphic Design, his own business adventure.
Jim loved family time with a passion for outdoor parties around the fire with all of his children, grandchildren, and friends met along the way; warm conversations and many stories told (and retold) with nothing but smiles and laughter and of course a few beers. Everyone was always warmly welcomed to join, whether he knew them or not.
Jim is survived by his wife of 43 years, Denise Hlawati; his children that he was so proud of, Nick Hlawati, Melissa Hlawati Diaz, Elisabeth Hlawati Harding, and Jennifer Hlawati, and his grandchildren whom he loved with all his heart, Ayden, Morrighan, Gabriel, Trey, Liam, Delaney, and Makenna Marie
A private memorial will be held at a later date.
