Ronald Max Wirth
Ronald Max Wirth, age 86, of Summit Township, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, December 16, 2021.
Born in Erie on January 14, 1935, he was the son of the late Max and Anne (Mando) Wirth Tatara.
Ronald was known as “Mr. Fix-it”, having a genuine talent for repairing anything. His motto was “If it’s worth fixing, Wirth will fix it!” He was employed at Hammermill/International Paper for 38 years. He was a member of the Siebenbuerger Club, American Legion Post #285, and Elks Lodge #67. Ronald served in the U.S. Army in Germany. He enjoyed a life-long passion for his Harley Davidson, touring North America with his wife.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra J. (Wheeler) Wirth; his son, Derek Wirth (Tina); his daughter, Tammi Wirth (Mike); his sister, Maxine Bennett (Ted); his granddaughters, Breana Chappuis (Matt), and Corpsman Sasha Wirth; his great granddaughter, Sophie Chappuis; several nieces and nephews, and a step-brother Robert Tatara (Pat).
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father Anthony Tatara, his step-sister, Rose Bruno, and step brother-in-law, Nick Bruno.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
A Celebration of Ronald’s Life will be held at a later date.
