Wallace James Colvin
Wallace James Colvin (a.k.a. Victor) of Ashtabula passed away Monday, November 27, 2023. He was 77. He was born in Conneaut, Ohio on November 15, 1946, to David Park and Betty Jane Colvin, who preceded him in death.
Wally showed a great aptitude for math and science. An outstanding student, he created a working atom smasher in high school. He graduated from Cleveland State University with a degree in mechanical engineering. He went on to earn his masters degree from the University of Cincinnati.
Wally worked at Union Carbide, First Energy, and subsequently enjoyed a long career at Perry Nuclear Plant, retiring to his small farm. He enjoyed many harvests and projects with his children and grandchildren. The last years of his life were spent in the excellent care of Lantern of Saybrook.
Wally is survived by Christine “Kitty” Colvin, his former wife of 43 years, his daughter Tanya (Wendy) Colvin, son Nathanael (Brenda) Colvin, daughter Annathea (Aarron) Fox, and son Josiah (Valerie) Colvin, as well as 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his three sisters, Jane Taylor, Jo Ann Burton, and Betty Jean Troxell.
A private memorial will be held for family and friends.
