Ronnie “Ron” Surgener
Ronnie “Ron” Surgener, age 72, of North East, PA, passed away peacefully in the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 17, 2022. He was born in Flint, Michigan to the late L.D. and Joyce (Payne) Surgener.
Ron was founder of the evangelistic ministry His Helping Hands. Since the day Jesus Christ came into his life, he was faithful to his calling to preach the gospel in the streets and pulpits of many countries. His passion was for the less fortunate.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Phyllis; his daughter, Cheryl Brumett (Mike); his daughter in law, Tammy Jo Surgener; four grandchildren, Eric Brumett (Ashley), Brandon Brumett (Sarah), Trevor, and Brooke Surgener; four great granddaughters, Lucie, Layla, Liana, and Luna. He is also survived by his beloved fur baby, Toby; four brothers, Don (Coleen), Jimmie Dale (Nancy), Russ (Stacy), and Mike (Annie); his sister, Jenise (Charlie); two brothers in law, Jack and Dan, several other family members, and his former son in law, Brian Brumett.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Joyce Arrigo; his beloved son, Bradley Surgener, and a brother, Jim Arrigo.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to his ministry, His Helping Hands Ministry, P.O. Box 816, North East, PA 16428, to help with feeding the homeless which was his passion.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at New Beginnings Church, 7195 West Ridge Road, Fairview, PA at 2:00 PM. Paul Friend, Sr. will be officiating.
