Peter Pasic
Peter (Pete) Pasic, age 66, of Erie, died Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Saint Vincent Hospital.
Born February 16, 1950 in Greensburg, PA, he was the son of the late Peter and Mildred Trbovich Pasic.
Pete graduated from East High School before serving in the US Army. He was employed by Hammermill Paper Company and International Paper Company for several years before taking an early retirement. He enjoyed playing golf, traveling, and camping. Pete loved spending time playing with his grandchildren. He loved his dog, Missy, and his cat, Sheda (Sheda Shortcakes). Later in life, Pete was an advocate for Veterans.
He regularly attended Holy Rosary Church in Erie. Even as his health declined, Pete tried his best to remain active in the community and help anyone as best he could.
He is survived by his wife of 8 years, Leona M. (Dzeskewicz) Pasic; one step- daughter, Mary Ann Hartstein and her husband, Joe, of Girard, Pa; one step son-Tom Jakobic and his wife, Danielle, of Erie, and three grandchildren, Mackenzie, Addi, and Max Jakobic, all at home.
He is preceded in death by his father, his loving mother, and three sisters, Dottie Pasic, Ann Pasic, and Minnie Kulick.
Pete's family would like to thank all of the staff at the VA Hospital for their care and support as well as the staff of UPMC Hamot Medical Center and Saint Vincent Hospital for his care.
As per Pete's wishes, there will be no viewing or visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at Holy Rosary Church on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at 6:00PM. Interment will be in the Beaver Cemetery, Beaver, PA
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Erie VA Medical Center, 135 E. 38th Street, Erie, PA 16504or American Lung Association, 201 State Street, Erie, PA 16550.
