Erie - Peggy Sue Mifsud, born on September 4, 1961, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on February 27, 2025, in Erie, Pennsylvania.
Peggy was a beloved wife, parent, grandparent, sibling, and friend. Peggy had a love for Erie history, which she shared with her children and grandchildren. Although she struggled with rheumatoid arthritis for over 40 years, she never complained and faced every challenge with determination and fierceness that could not be matched. Peggy Sue loved her husband Ed with all her heart and shared countless magical memories with him over their 46 year marriage. She lived for the time she spent with her grandchildren and her two beloved dogs, Yule and Sissy.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Edward Mifsud of 46 years; her son, Eddie and his wife Jen Mifsud; her daughter, Maria and her fiancé Mike Mayerchak; and her cherished granddaughters, Samantha Anne and Addison Marie Mifsud, as well as Ella Marie and Abby Rose Corey. Peggy also held a special place in her heart for her bonus son, Danny Bunce, whom she loved like her own. Her siblings, Julia (Tracey), Pamela (Jim), Gary (Paula), Deano, and her sisters-in-law, Rose and Pam who will forever treasure the bond they shared. Peggy is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins who will remember her with love.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Karol and Larry Elliott; her in-laws, Sam and Rose Mifsud, and her brother-in-law, Charles Lamp.
Peggy's life was marked by love and devotion to family. She faced life's challenges with resilience and strength and is now free from pain and suffering. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. Per her wishes, there will be no services held.
