Lynne Ann Long
Lynne Ann Long, age 77, of Erie, PA, passed away on Tuesday morning, November 29th, 2016 at Manor Care Health Services.
Lynne was born in 1939 in Taylorville, Illinois and is the daughter of the late Vincent and Mary Wegner. She graduated from high school in Frankfort, Indiana and completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. Subsequently she was employed by Deckman Oil Company in Buffalo, New York.
Lynne was very active in various capacities in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church of Erie where she regularly attended services. She also volunteered at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Erie for several years. Family and friendship were very important to Lynne and she enjoyed keeping in contact
with her many friends and family members. Lynne also enjoyed a love of cooking and baking and is known especially for her cakes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Mary Wegner and two brothers, Vincent Wegner and Richard Wegner. She is survived by one brother, William Wegner, and his wife Patricia, who live in Gresham, Oregon. The wives of Vincent and Richard, Gloria and Patricia, respectively, survive as well.
Lynne is also survived by three daughters, Laura Bellew of Albuquerque, NM, Julie Garvey and her fiancé, Marc LeDuc of Clearwater, FL, and Jennifer Hardy and her husband John of McKean, PA. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at St. Patrick’s Church at a date to be announced. A private interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
The family wishes to extend its sincerest gratitude to staffs at Manor Care Services of Erie, including Heartland Hospice, and UPMC Hamot Medical Center who provided outstanding care and extended many kindnesses to Lynne.
