Edna Mae (Pursell) Hale
Edna Mae (Pursell) Hale age 95, passed away peacefully at her daughter's home in North East, PA on Thursday, January 28th, 2021.
Edna was a lifelong resident of Albion, moving from the farm to the Barnett Building several years ago, where she was loved by the residents and staff there. Edna resided there until March 2020 when she moved to North East. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Albion. Edna worked at Marx Toys then became well known for baking and decorating cakes.
She was very talented and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, ceramics and crafts. For several years she entered her items at the Albion fair and received a large collection of ribbons. A Cleveland Indians fan just like her mother, she also had a secret crush on Bobby Flay and loved watching the Food Network.
Most of all, she was a very loving and spiritual person with a heart of gold and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Edna was the daughter of Roy and Gladys (Keep) Pursell. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Richard "Dicky" Hale; son-in-law, Phil Carnes; brothers, Roy, Bob, and Norman and their spouses; brother-in-law, Bob Dana, and most recently, her sister-in-law, Marge Pursell.
Edna is survived by a brother, Chuck Pursell; a sister, Delores Dana; a son, William (Bill) Hale; daughters, Debbie Hale, Darlene Laskowski-Stafford, and Pam Carnes. Edna was Grandma, GG, and Grammy to 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren.
Edna's family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Aseracare Hospice of Waterford. Her team, Dr. Barac, Kristin, Darla, Paula and Melody made her feel so special and loved. The care she received from them was magnificent and she would frequently say "I Just love them" and couldn't wait for their visits. They took us in their arms and guided us through this beautiful journey. Sophie (Family Dog) enjoyed the visits and all the love and attention. She also enjoyed cuddling up with grandma on her soft blankets.
Due to COVID-19, a celebration of Edna's life will be tentatively held in the spring.
