Gary James Van Luven
Gary James Van Luven, age 67, of Erie, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2019.
Born April 29, 1952 in Erie, he was a son of the late Milton P. and Delores (Linn) Van Luven.
Gary enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved the outdoors and gardening, and watching television. Gary was an avid sports fan, especially hockey and baseball. His favorite teams were the Pittsburgh Penguins, Cleveland Browns, and the Cleveland Indians.
Gary served in the U.S. Navy in Viet Nam, and was very proud of his service to his country.
He is survived by his wife, Terri L. (Orlosky) Van Luven of Erie; 4 daughters, Theresa Noll of Warren, OH, Mindi Hamilton of Fayettville, NC, Tanya Borkowski of Jacksonville, FL, and Kristi Van Luven of Erie; 1 son, Gary James Van Luven II of Erie; 1 sister, Michelle Larue of Corry, PA; 1 brother, Wayne Van Luven of Akron, OH; 10 grandchildren, Ashley, Austin, Nick, Zander, Laura, Kylie Rose, Mackenzie, Alyssa, Chris Jr., and Stephanie, and 4 great grandchildren, Kaelyn, Raila, Issac, and Brentley. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Ellen Smith and Sharon Shoemaker, and 3 brothers, Dale Van Luven, Raymond Van Luven, and Gene Van Luven.
There will be no viewing or visitation. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
