Carol Jean Wisinski

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Carol (Fletcher) Wisinski, age 89, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family, on January 9, 2025.

One of 10 children, she was born to Clyde and Gertrude Fletcher on May 31, 1935 in Erie, PA. Creative, stylish, and strong-willed, she married the love of her life, Raymond Wisinski, in 1954. Together, Carol and Ray raised six daughters, fostering a warm and inviting home that became a hub for gatherings, a refuge for those in need, and a haven for stray animals.

Carol and Ray loved wintering in Punta Gorda, Florida. Carol enjoyed biking through the neighborhood, delivering Ray’s sweetbread, and socializing with friends. An avid crafter, reader, and bargain shopper, she always had a positive attitude and faced life’s challenges with grace and resilience.

Carol loved her communities and cherished her role in the lives of her eleven grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren. She was an inspiration to all on how to live and love well.

She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Kestle, Rae Ann (Norman) Craft, Rita Wisinski, Jackie (Tim) Haaf, Kathy (Herb) Combs, and Christine (Kevin) Tobin.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, and granddaughter, Tammy Kestle Bower.

At Carol’s request, there will be no public services, but donations may be made in her memory to Because You Care, Inc. at becauseyoucare.org/get-involved/donate.
